PDP’s Agbateyiniro Declared Winner of Warri South chairman-elect

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Warri South local government area, Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro,  has been declared the chairman-elect after securing 52,928 votes in the election held on Saturday, July 13. The announcement of his victory was made by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) on Sunday.

According to DSIEC Returning Officer for Warri South, Faith Lori, a total of 57,023 valid votes were cast during the election. The number of accredited voters was reported as 60,400, with 791 votes rejected.

Despite the boycott by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prince Francis Yonwuren, who initially abstained from the election, he eventually garnered 2,538 votes to emerge as the runner-up.
