AC Milan legend, Paolo Maldini has revealed that he tried to sign Lionel Messi for the club.
Maldini worked as the Technical Director of the Serie A side before he was sacked at the end of last season.
He has now claimed he tried to bring in Messi when he was leaving Barcelona as a free agent in 2021.
“For 10 days we tried to bring Messi to Milan, but then we realised it was impossible

“It is too late now, but a player like Messi is a spectacle for anyone to witness.
“When I read that he might even go to Inter, I got scared,” Maldini said on the PoretCast show.
Messi eventually joined Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal, but now plays for Inter Miami in the MLS.
