Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been crowned the Women’s Team of the Year at the 2025 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards held on Wednesday night in Rabat, Morocco.
The nine-time World Cup campaigners and record 10-time African champions earned the honour following their impressive showing at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they lifted the trophy on Moroccan soil.
Their commanding run at the tournament placed them firmly ahead of other nominees, sealing their position at the top of the shortlist.

The Falcons edged Ghana’s Black Queens and Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses to clinch the award, reaffirming their status as the most successful women’s national team on the continent.

CAF’s decision also reflects the team’s sustained excellence in recent years, both on and off the pitch.
